Jinna Yang: An Influencer We Love

In the world of social media it can sometimes be hard to stand out amongst all the noise. Jinna Yang is one influencer who has been truly successful at it.

Her blog, Grease and Glamour, receives thousands of unique visitors each day and has a loyal band of followers on Instagram — over 17,000 of them!

She is most known for traveling the world with a cardboard cutout of her late father.

Jinna is inspired by creators all around the world. “Photographers, videographers, content creators. Thanks to the media, I get to be inspired by the work that’s shared and their messages are spread to people around the world. I’m also so inspired by my readers, who motivate me to continue doing what I do everyday,” she says.

While Jinna Yang is her true passion, she is also a writer for Condé Nast Traveler. “When I am hired by other brands I do my research firstly — it’s important to understand what their brand represents, and what their company stands for. I try to find the best way to stay true to their message while retaining my own voice to ensure that it’s a win-win for both of us.”

Social media is a constantly evolving platform that brands both big and small are still trying to figure out. Nobody knows what it will look like in the next 5 years and as Jinna says, “That’s the beauty of it.”

You can find Jinna on E!’s new reality T.V show House of DVF.

Sircle Media Partners With ENK Shows

Intermezzo Announcement

We are so happy to be teaming up with ENK Shows as their Social Media Partner. Sircle will be at their Intermezzo Event on January 6-8th hosting their first ever “Social Media Lounge.”  This is going to be a great opportunity to interact with their impressive roster of exhibiting fashion brands at this major event.  We are joining forces with our partners over at Janine Just Incorporated to help bring an even more comprehensive suite of services to the sessions. Hopefully we can better explain where PR, Social and general Digital Strategies should intersect and collide.

The fashion vertical is one which relies heavily on the visual nature of social networking to grow their following online. Brands are constantly trying to leverage these tools to stand out from the pack, yet very few know how to effectively story tell by platform.  We are hoping to shed some light on how to do so, to help them cut through the clutter and reach their desired audience.

We will have a lounge setup near the registration area and will be interfacing with brands directly over the course of the show.  If you will be there, be sure to stop by and keep it social!

Sircle Media Speaks at PlannerTech 2013

999094_194684457374073_1289945144_nSircle Media President and Founder, Adam Brown was asked to speak on a panel at Plannertech on August 13th 2013.  He was joined by Janine Just, CEO of Janine Just Inc. (A Social Relations Firm) and Mikki Glass, Founder of PickIT (A self serve Facebook contest and sweepstakes solution) and they were asked a number of questions regarding “Events Gone Viral” and how Social Media influences behavior in and around events.

The room was filled with over 100 individuals who work in and around the events industry. It was a Q&A format and each speaker was given about a minute or so to address each question asked. The questions ranged from “What makes an event go viral?” to “What are some of the best and worst marketing campaigns/strategies you have each seen in recent years?”  The speakers addressed each question head on and it was one of the highlights of the day.

Social Media is a powerful tool in making events more meaningful and more memorable beyond the event date.

Leveraging that can make a huge difference.

The event was put together by the incomparable Liz King, Founder of Liz King Events who has been a great partner to Sircle Media over the past couple of years. Sircle hopes to be invited back next year!

Sircle Media Launches Sircle.It

On August 1st, Sircle Media launched a new division, named Sircle It. We pride ourselves on being a full digital solution for our clients and we wanted to continue to follow through on that promise. Most of our clients start with a “strictly social” plan, but they quickly realize (with a lot of urging from us) that social is much bigger than Facebook and Twitter posting. It is all a part of a larger plan and you need to employ a more comprehensive strategy to make it all come together.

We decided it was time to bring all of that under one roof to make for a smoother transition for our brands. Sircle had developed some great working relationships with outside fulfillment partners (and we remain in close contact with them if/when there is a chance for collaboration) but now most work is managed completely by Sircle.  We definitely feel this creates a better offering for our clients. Ultimately we want to be able to have all of the players in place so we can create a workable plan and then execute on that plan seamlessly.

Screen_Shot_2013-09-23_at_9.22.48_AMWebsite Design and Development for the current times. This means responsive, CMS’ that allow for clients to update/improve content on their own.

Search Marketing Strategies that allow for our clients to be found on popular search engines. We employ strategic SEO and SEM plans that increase visbility and drive traffic to their websites.

Content Marketing Solutions that allow websites to be more meaningful, memorable and shareable. We employ strategic content marketing plans, including Facebook Ads, Blog writing and Blogger outreach programs that also tie in with social messaging to create a 360 degree solution.

Personal Website: A Must Have!

Most people who are searching for a new job don’t realize that a personal website can be a real game changer. According to Workfolio, “56% of all hiring managers are more impressed by a candidate’s personal website than any other personal branding tool—however, only 7% of job seekers actually have a personal website.”

Having this tool to highlight your accomplishments can offer the employer some more information than what can be found on your resume. A web page can allow you to show more than a piece of paper can convey, and it probably doesnt hurt (regardless of your industry) to show you have some digital chops and awareness.

More and more employers are starting to Google search their candidates for the positions they are offering and it would be a great boost if they stumbled upon your website. It shows that you are professional and serious about your job search. Just make sure your website is complete, up to date, and has no errors.

When making your personal website it is important to focus on: a professional headline, a brief bio, your resume, a professional summary/objective, samples of your work, results, links, a blog, videos and other relevant multimedia and testimonials.  It is equally important to ensure that it is well-designed and put together professionally. It can show your creative side and show off your personality.  If it looks poor though it can definitely have an adverse impact.  Make sure it “looks the part!”

A great way to highlight that you have a personal website is to put the link in your email signature, on your resume and cover letter, and on your social networking profiles.  This is true whether you are on the job hunt or not.  A professionally, branded website can make a big difference in succeeding at your current job as well.

Set yourself apart from others and start creating your personal website right away.  Control what others are finding when they search your name, because believe me they are. Sircle Media is here to help and can build a responsive personal brand website for individuals in any industry.  Here is a recent website we built for our client, Gregory Frank

Social Media Influencers = A ‘Must Have’!

Long gone are the days when your success in Social Media was measured solely by the number of fans or followers you attained. Marketers are quickly beginning to realize the importance of influencers and bloggers in helping them actually develop a real loyal following. These influencers are thought leaders and experts within an industry with loyal fans and followers in tow. Because many consumers do not believe everything a brand says about themselves, influencers are viewed as credible and trusted sources that can/should be objective.

Social Media influencers act as a vital link in the Social Media chain. They have reach far beyond the average person and their fans value what they say. They could be the boost that your brand is looking for to increase visibility and improve your image. According to a study by Meteor Solutions, “These very important Internet users can directly influence 30% or more of overall end actions on brand websites by recommending the brand’s site, products or promotions to friends.”

What does this all mean for your brand?

Integrating Social influencers into your strategy can help ensure future success and profits. When one of these industry experts says something about you, their constituency of fans and followers are now aware of your brand. Since these fans value the influencer’s opinion greatly, they will likely adopt the same feelings toward your brand (hopefully positive).  Developing positive relationships with influencers is mission critical to your success and can instantly add creditability and value.

PlannerTech 2013

Screen Shot 2013-06-26 at 9.22.39 AM

I am so honored to have been selected as a panel speaker at the upcoming PlannerTech 2013. The event will be held in NYC on August 13th (my Mom’s Birthday, so a lucky day to begin with) at CONVENE Event Space and I am really looking forward to it.

I was asked to be there by the incomparable Liz King who owns Liz King Events and who is organizing this awesome day. She is a real hustler and a good friend and supporter of Sircle Media. Big fan of all things Liz!  I will be on the panel with Janine Just who is also one of my favorite people to work with and someone who I was introduced to originally by Liz. (The Power of “social” networking!)

The event brings together great minds (and me apparently) in and around the event space for an amazing day of education and innovation.  I am honored to be a part of it and I just hope I represent them well. If you’re a corporate or independent event planner that knows you need to stay on the cutting edge of what’s new in event tech (or need a little convincing!), this is the event for you. Whether you’re new to the game or simply like the idea of technology enabling you to do what you currently do better, faster, stronger …then click here.

Hope to see you there!

Sircle Media Acquires Dynadig

Sircle Web Solutions We are here

Today we announced that we acquired DynaDig LLC, a New York City based Digital Marketing Agency. This is another step in a series of strategic moves towards solidifying a more robust suite of services for our growing client base.

We are firm believers that Social Media is just a general term for today’s internet.  All digital touch points are opportunities to serve up meaningful content which a brand hopes will be found and then shared and engaged with. Sircle focuses on social, content and search and we are always looking for new and better ways to help our clients at this intersection. This acquisition and the start of our new Sircle Web Solutions Division will allow us to offer greatly improved and more comprehensive web design and development solutions for small and local businesses.

We have already begun working with new clients under this joint venture and will continue to roll out new products in the near future. The company will operate under the Sircle Media name and Chris Heller will be the Managing Director of the newly created Sircle Web Solutions division. CLICK HERE to see the Press Release

How much do “your” brands actually care about you?

The intense winds and rain have stopped in the New York metro area, but the devastation in neighborhoods still lingers for many.  Some of my friends only lost power for a few days and had to drive miles just to see electricity and be able to shower. Others had it much worse and lost their houses, cars and even boats during the surges.  This is a time where everyone has to not be selfish, and lend a hand to a friend, neighbor or even a random person in need.

Some major brands are taking on the initiative to back up their valued customers, and it is not going without notice.  One major brand that sticks out to me is AT&T because they have proactively setup pods outside of the NYC food and water distribution locations so that users could come and recharge and reconnect with the world. The storm knocked out some of the towers for local wireless carriers, making something as simple as phone calls in NYC nearly impossible for many.  I cant speak to the other cell phone service providers as I didnt see what they did, but AT&T to be was very visible during the aftermath!

Other notable efforts made by companies and organizations:  JetBlue is matching customer donations up to the first $50,000 donated to the American Red Cross, and also offering 6 points per dollar to their TrueBlue members.  The NFL Players Association donated $1 million to the Sandy Relief Effort.  The media giant News Corp., which owns Fox News and Fox Business Network, donated $1 million to charity, half of it to help NYC, and half for New Jersey.   eBay and iTunes are allowing users to donate money to the American Red Cross right through their interface making donations as easy as a click of the mouse.   Even Time Warner in NYC (not always loved for their customer service and support) is donating $1 million to the relief effort as well.

These brands know that they have to be there for their loyal customers and I think their efforts will be remembered by a lot of people in this area. They have won big from a Public Relations standpoint, regardless of their underlying motives. If you are a brand or major company you should donate some money or set up a strategy to help out the people in need, and it will go much further towards positive brand perception and overall value than any advertisement could!

Drive Your Small Business to Succeed With a LinkedIn Business Profile

While the social network LinkedIn has earned a reputation as one of the best ways to find new job openings, it is even more powerful when used to create new business opportunities. By starting a LinkedIn business profile, you are creating a chance to engage with audiences inside and outside of your industry.  You will effectively be able to put a “face” behind your business. It is important to remember however, that LinkedIn is not the same as your Facebook or Twitter account, so be sure to keep your profile professional and relevant to your business.

By creating a LinkedIn profile, you will be able to gain access to other profiles much like yours and find groups that are specific to your industry. This makes it easier to network with other businesses that will benefit you and yours.

LinkedIn will not only help you meet industry insiders, but it will also open opportunities to create business-to-business transactions. Many consumers find it helpful to search through LinkedIn for businesses that are reliable and suit their needs. They will often post specific questions, so be sure to remain active and engage with your consumers by answering their questions.  By doing this you will be able to show your expertise in your field and that you are confident and capable. This will highlight your knowledge and is a sure fire way to gain credibility.

Remember, that LinkedIn is an incredible medium for showing off your business and the key selling points that differentiate you. Think carefully about what you put out there because it will definitely have an impact on the overall impression people will have. Be professional, respectable and active on your LiknedIn page and you will become a respected source in your industry!
